AUSTIN: A music festivus for the rest of us.

This is why Austin is cooler than your city. Graham, the booker for Emo’s (Austin’s version of CBGBs) along with Austin’s best movie theatre chain the Alamo Drafthouse has put together a music festival called Fun Fun Fun. This promises to be the ACL of underground music. None of that wussy K-Geezer (KGSR) crap here. It takes place December 1st in Waterloo Park

and will have 3 stages showcasing some of the best under the radar music in indie, punk, and electronica.

Image Hosted by ImageShack.us

It’s 3 stages and around 25 bands and djs.

Why had I never heard of this?  This is awesome!! I’m very out-of-the-loop apparently.  Joel, will your band be there?

Posted by giseledavila  on  10/31/06  at  11:33 PM

No. no, my band will sadly not be there this year. We are supposed to fly up to NYC soon to shuck and jive for the bigwhigs at Capitol, Warner Bros. and all those types and then there is of course SXSW but we are not doing the FUNFUNFUN unfortunately. =(
I am pretty excited about this though! Mr. Quintron and Miss Pussycat are awesome as all get out and Negative Approach should be terrific.

Just thought I’d let you know....I think this event is going to be HUGE!!  I overheard at least 5 people talking about it this weekend...not to mention all the advertisements I saw for it on every restroom door ;)
